Effortlessly unwind, revive and create in this former artist’s studio lovingly converted using natural elements such as wood, light and metal –– to a spacious Vervoordt-style two-bedroom cottage just steps away from Tinker Street and the heart of Woodstock’s charming downtown.
Built in 1925, this cottage retreat was once the studio of Hudson Valley painter Paul Arndt. Original stonework, soaring high ceilings, skylights in the kitchen and bedroom and wide plank pinewood floors throughout couple with thoughtful and modern touches like ‘Farrow and Ball’ painted walls and a Venetian plastered bathroom by artist Anthony Chase.

The living room’s impressive stone fireplace is fitted with a Stüb Belgian insert. Light a fire and sink into the George Smith sofas... or gather around the oak sawhorse dining table for the fireside dinner party of your dreams. Enchanted upstate evenings start here.

In the eat-in kitchen, custom barnwood cabinetry is stocked with Le Creuset cookware, Sabatier knives, a Nespresso coffee-maker and a cold-pressed juicer and blender. Or walk into town to dine in or take out at one of Woodstock’s storied bakeries or restaurants.
Leave feeling rejuvenated, restored and reconnected... for whatever awaits you on the other side of your stay
The sunlit, screened in porch with its cathedral style ceilings is a perfect spot to practice yoga, read, meditate or simply take in the beauty of the Michael Trapp landscape-designed property. Equally restorative, is a low EMF Sunlighten far-infrared sauna which completes the self care package and allows you to truly create a wellness retreat during your stay.

Experience nearby skiing, hiking and swimming holes or use the cottage’s two mountain bikes to stay active. Allow our concierge service to arrange a massage or private yoga class. Or simply indulge in the spoils of the Hudson Valley’s great antique markets.

Dogs, of course, are welcome.

For that which we can’t predict or control, the cottage has an emergency generator.
